Guides on finding, understanding and dealing with wasp nests.
Older relatives are often tempted to deal with a wasp nest themselves to avoid a fuss. A gentle word and a quick booking are far safer than a ladder or a spray.
Buyers and new tenants often inherit an old nest with the keys, and knowing what it means helps you decide how much attention it deserves.
Tenants often lose a day or two working out who should arrange treatment, so here is how to keep the timeline short and the nest from growing.
The treatment is only the middle of the story: what you see in the days afterwards, what to do about the empty nest and how to close the gap all deserve a plan.
Trees give wasps height, shelter and a thick screen of leaves, and a nest that goes up in May may not show itself until late in the summer.
“After 30 years in this house with no wasp problems, two come along at once. The service was excellent, done in a very short time by a very pleasant gentleman. I thoroughly recommend although I hope never to have to use his services again!”
