Guides on finding, understanding and dealing with wasp nests.
In a small garden there is nowhere to stand well back, so the safest plan is to treat the whole plot as a no-go area near the shed until it is done.
Money is usually what slows a wasp booking down, so a fixed price and a calm conversation about the tenancy agreement can get the job done first and settled fairly after.
Children and pets do not understand why a wall is out of bounds, so a hidden nest calls for simple, firm routines until a technician has treated it.
Garden structures built for children and pets are warm, dry and low to the ground, so a short check in spring is a sensible habit.
A heap of clippings and leaves against a hedge is warm, dry and rarely disturbed, which makes it a favourite place for a wasp colony to settle.
