Guides on finding, understanding and dealing with wasp nests.
A roof nest does not have to shut down the garden, but a few sensible changes make life safer while you wait for the technician.
A nest the size of a golf ball seems like an easy target in May. The trouble is that early nests are defended just as fiercely and grow quickly if left.
Greenhouses, cold frames and plant stores stay warm early in the year, so they deserve an early look when the first queens come out.
A nest above head height is hard to reach, harder to see, and almost always the wrong thing to tackle from a ladder.
The calendar is a useful identification tool, because wasps and bees follow different rhythms through the year and show up in different ways.
“Had to call out St George’s Pest Control last week, really good service got rid of wasps in one application, Ian was a very pleasant man and answered the questions I put to him, I would fully recommend St George’s”
Ian“After 30 years in this house with no wasp problems, two come along at once. The service was excellent, done in a very short time by a very pleasant gentleman. I thoroughly recommend although I hope never to have to use his services again!”
