Guides on finding, understanding and dealing with wasp nests.
A nest discovered in October or November may still hold wasps, and the way you handle it matters even if the season is winding down.
Good records turn a stressful summer incident into a short paragraph in your property file, ready if an agent, tenant or insurer later asks what happened.
Behind the bar, wasps find sugar, grease and warmth, so landlords need a back-of-house routine as well as a plan for the garden.
A nest below ground gives almost no warning, which makes lawns, banks and flower beds a place where careless footsteps turn into multiple stings.
For anyone with a known allergy to wasp stings, a nest on the property deserves faster action, and the earlier it is dealt with the less exposure there is.
