Guides on finding, understanding and dealing with wasp nests.
Sheds, garages and garden stores are popular with wasps, and the price for treating a nest in one is the same fixed figure as anywhere else.
Summer heat under the roof is one of the reasons wasps choose lofts, and it also changes how the house feels and sounds when a nest is growing.
When a nest is knocked or sprayed, the wasps that cannot find their way back sometimes turn up inside the house, which turns an outdoor problem into an indoor one.
Blocking the hole where wasps enter a wall feels like the obvious fix, but it often makes things worse, and understanding why helps you act in the right order.
A nest tells you more about its owners than the insects do, and recognising paper, wax or moss from a safe distance can settle the question.
