Guides on finding, understanding and dealing with wasp nests.
The end of wasp season is gradual, and it is worth knowing what to expect in autumn, how to treat leftovers and how to prepare for next spring.
An absent owner cannot see the problem or let the technician in, so success depends on a trusted keyholder, a clear description and written permission.
Wasps are drawn to sweet food and drink in late summer, so a few table habits can prevent most stings and show you when a nest is close by.
Ivy that has grown thick over a hedge makes a tidy green wall, and a perfect screen for a wasp nest that nobody can see.
Knowing when a lingering wasp is normal and when it means a second call is the difference between needless worry and a nest left to rebuild.
